Viper, a beautiful male German shepherd, is the "First Dog of Arkansas." He's always playful and full of energy, but he's also very loving and smart. Both the Governor and Mrs. Beebe enjoy playing with him and showing him off to friends and guests. His official duties include keeping the neighborhood cats away, chasing squirrels, playing with the garden hoses, and barking at the neighborhood dogs. He also likes being the official greeter of guests to the Governor's Mansion and drinking from the fountains. His favorite pastime, however, is helping the Mansion landscaping crew with their work, especially when it comes to hole digging. He makes new friends every day and continues to learn good dog behavior.
